Polyethylene-based PEX Pipes, whose cross-linking process is completed, can easily operate at temperatures between -100 ileC and +110 ºC without disrupting their structural features.
PEX Crosslinking (Crosslink)
MEGA-PEX Pipes are produced by extrusion method. Coiled PEX Pipes are cured in steam tanks for approximately 4 hours. Thus, polymer chains become a single molecule by making a bond with the side chains and the transformation is made into a crosslinked structure.
Crosslinking Types
In the plastic pipe industry, there are three different types of pex pipe systems: PEX-a Peroxide, PEX-b Silane and PEX-c Irradiation. (The difference between types is the method of production and cross-linking rates demanded by TS 10762-2 EN ISO 15875-2 standard)
MEGA-PEX Plastic Piping Systems are produced with PE-Xb production model known as Silane Method in terms of its high performance characteristics against flexibility and flexibility.
PE-Xb is known as silane method. It is produced from cross-linkable high density polyethylene (HDPE) raw material, resistant to heat and pressure. Cross-linking is achieved by steam curing, a special process after production. The degree of crosslinking must be at least 65%.
